Throwing Stars

the Stacey Necklace

Amy started out by making jewelry with beads and selling at farmers markets in Vail, Colorado. Beading opened the door to metalsmithing. She apprenticed a Colorado jeweler and took metalsmithing classes at night. Using a torch and hammer to manipulate the metal quickly became her passion.

the Angela Wire Cuff

Her current jewelry designs include mostly sterling silver and 14K gold-filled wire. You can still see the influence of beads in her line, with small accents of semi-precious stones to add a little color. She is also exploring the fun of copper and 14K rose gold-filled wire and quickly adding it to her line. Throwing Stars Jewelry includes a lot of hammering so it reflects light, while it also has an organic and hand-made feel.

the Shoshana Earring

She’s a working mom, so when it comes to wearing jewelry, she wants something that’s fun, lightweight and easy to wear, yet sophisticated and makes an artistic statement at the same time. What began as a hobby at her dining room table, Throwing Stars Jewelry has become a mainstay at Beth Ann. Come meet her in person on Thursday, May 13th when she'll be here for her trunk show!

Spring 2010 Makeup Cheat Sheet

Summer is almost here... Necklines are plunging, hemlines are shrinking, and it’s time to pile on the sunscreen!

Lighten your load - as temperatures rise, use a sheer foundation to prevent your skin from feeling smothered.

Orange is the new red! Find the right shade for you and let your lips take the stage... Try Micro Cashmere or Micro Spice for a more neutral orange or Lip Rouge #14 for more intense color. Tangerine Lipshine offers a sheer tint of color and SPF 15.

For a fresh, dewy look, try Mineral Sheer Tint SPF 20 (Natural Glow is a favorite!) and top with Sweet Cheeks Cremewear Blush. Add mascara and Liquid Lustre lipgloss, and you’re ready to go!

Bold color is IN for eyes! Try Iris (#575) Sheer Satin Shadow over black eye liner to intensify any eye color. Silver Linden (#5A17) Sheer Satin Shadow can be worn along the lashline for a subtle *pop* or all over the lid for maximum impact.

Spring loves SHIMMER - use it sparingly to create a sunkissed look. Mineral Sheer Veil in Champagne or Color Tides Mineral Shimmering Powder in Peaches n’ Cream create a golden glow when applied to the highlights of the face (think about where the light naturally hits your face - cheekbones, browbones, the bridge of the nose.)

From Broadway to Buckhead

Beth Ann is honored to stock the legendary Helen Eisemann Alexander's (aka Helen Eastman) new autobiography, From Broadway to Buckhead. Helen was born on Friday, the 13th in New York City and grew up in the "colorful and sometimes magical world of the swanky Pierre Hotel - once home to celebrities such as Coco Chanel and Audrey Hepburn." The book relates her story as an actress from Broadway to television and film and also shares stories about her life as a civil rights activist "fighting for social reform in the rapidly changing South." Pick up the book to learn more about this colorful and charming woman...

This Just In...

A new shipment from one of our all-time favorite designers, Chan Luu...

This is actually three separate pieces: one is a long necklace that can be doubled, and the other two are wrap bracelets that can be worn three ways - long as pictured above, doubled as a choker...

or wrapped as a bracelet. These are a staple item at Beth Ann, so come by to see LOTS of different variations and colors.

A cuff...

and a new necklace.

We have many different summer scarf options - here are some which double as jewelry.

Use this one to dress up a Love Quotes scarf...
